From my own perspective, yes that would be abuse if some dude called someone a whore in the public or in private. It's verbal abuse and should not be tolerated. It's sad to see men find refuge online and say crazy stuff to women, thinking they are "safe" and can be idiots.

I read the complete article and I still don't feel like you were verbally abused. You obviously were not into this guy, you had no feelings for him if you could just blow him off so casually and hope that he would "take a hint". How could he abuse you? Abuse implies someone knowing you well enough to emotionally rattle you, say the right thing to make you feel like less of a person, belittle everything about you until you doubt yourself. This wasn't your case, even from his messages you can tell that it was just angry jabber coming from his part. If a guy walking down the road whistles at you, you flip him off, and he shouts that you're a whore, would that also be abuse?

Sorry for my poor English. I disagree with this quote, because it not true at all in Thailand. Many family women work as sex worker to feed their children and her husband. Their husbands know what their wife working and accept that. Jobs for men in Thailand pay much lower than women in sex industry, therefore husbands can't complain about their wife job.
This sentence show Victorian era perspective.

Thanks for your comment. TBH, you are correct and in normal circumstances I would have just messaged him and told him I wasn't interested. There were many points that I did not delve into this article that happened prior to him bombarding me with these messages, it was for this reason why I chose to not message him back.

It is unfortunate that you didn't feel like reading the rest of the article, because the point of the article wasn't to gain sympathy or emotional relief from readers, but rather it was to create an awareness and understanding on the importance of recognizing verbal abuse.

After I spoke with many people, as well as the psychiatrist, I was given a lot of perspective on how people dealt with this type of situation. So I appreciate your opinions and that you thought I made the wrong decision by not telling him I wasn't interested, but at the time I thought it would be the best decision to make.

I hope you choose to re-read this article with that in your mind and try not to read it with the thought that I was trying to get my readers to feel bad for me, that was not my intention at all. I am who I am, i have made plenty of mistakes and I choose to learn from these mistakes.

I honestly didn't bother reading the second half of your article because of your behavior towards this guy. I am not saying his texts were warranted or that verbal abuse isn't a serious issue, because it is. But when you say you are going to meet someone and then just ignore them, that's not okay. You are wasting that person's time and showing a complete disregard for his feelings. Instead, you should show some maturity and respect by simply telling him that you aren't into him. That is the right thing to do, not just shun him whenever you feel like it. You didn't deserve those texts, but you definitely don't deserve any sympathy from readers because you made your own bed--now lay in it.

This is a little hilariously pretentious because it is basically a watch with very cheap mechanisms with pretty packaging. Nothing wrong with watches for fashion but to treat it like it somehow exudes some deep anti-materialistic value when it is basically just the trendy it watch of the moment comes off as superficial.
